A new dating show is coming to Australia and we’re very intrigued

Are you tired of swiping right? You might be just what this mysterious new dating show is looking for.

Applications for a mysterious new dating show are now open and colour us very intrigued.

American network NBCUniversal is looking for Australian singles, 21 and over, who are “tired of swiping right”.

We’re not entirely sure what this new show is, but it promotes itself as an inclusive space where “all types of daters are welcome”, which is something we rarely see on Australian reality TV. This is also depicted in the banner image at the top of the application form.

While the questions on the application form start out the kinds of things you’d expect them to ask, they do evolve to be rather interesting indeed.

Like, “do you prefer monogamous or non-monogamous relationships?” and “this show may tape internationally, do you have an issue travelling outside of the country?”; the latter probably being a little difficult with the current global pandemic, but we imagine casting may take a few months.

But reading the fine print, successful applicants will need to be available “to the production for a period of 5 weeks in mid-2021”.

We did some sleuthing and found the same show being promoted to North American residents, too, with the tagline describing the show as “a new, ground-breaking television dating show”.

“If you are tired of swiping right and are willing to travel internationally to find love, we want to meet you!”

Very interesting indeed.
