When Rebel Wilson visited Mozambique with a group of women some time ago, she and the group were taken to a house at gunpoint. She’s described the terrifying experience.
Rebel Wilson has revealed a terrifying ordeal in which she was kidnapped at gunpoint while in rural Mozambique.
Appearing on UK TV special, Ant Middleton & Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking, SAS Australia instructor Ant Middleton asked when she had felt most afraid in her life when she described the experience.
“We were on this cattle truck and these men came on another truck with a lot of guns,” she said.
“They were like, ‘Yeah, you’ve got to get off your truck’.”

Rebel and the group of women she was travelling with were then taken to a house and held overnight.
I felt like I was very good in the crisis. I was like a team leader,” she added.
“They sat us down, and I said, ‘Everybody link arms,’ because I was petrified in the night that they might want to take one of the girls or something.”
But Rebel says the group were released the following day.
“They came and said, ‘Your truck is ready now. You can go, go, go,’” she said.
“We just got back on that truck and got out of there and crossed the South African border a few hours later.”
She still doesn’t know why the group were kidnapped, but she has her suspicions.
“I think maybe those guys, maybe, used us to smuggle illegal things in the bottom of the truck,” she said.
Kidnapping and ransom is a relatively common occurrence in Mozambique, however there is no official government data on its frequency.
